except based on the way many of those i see reaching retirement ,financially they don't do both . they do more complaining than learning , planning and bettering their position.

rather than learn about ways to grow financially and learn about the ins and outs of retirement planning and the aspects of social security planning they need to know they read every piece of political crap they can find .

in fact the more negative the better . we have some here in our forums who have no clue about anything financial but rather than learn they will post article after article about supposedly how poorly everyone is doing .

This forum is extremely limited and has a somewhat uniform point of view on economics.

The reason the media hates Trump because he backs big old money establishment companies like coal, big oil, guns, tobacco and old retail businesses. The establishment that controls the media are the new silicon valley tech companies like Amazon, Google, Facebook, and they control the media and Trump's been pushing policies that aimed at disrupting tech companies. Most middle class jobs depends on big old establishments to do well while the new money tech companies destroys middle class jobs. Amazon has gutted many mom & pop businesses and forcing them to sign up for Amazon market acct to stay in business.

Trump doesn't really care about middle class jobs, he's simply lining up his donors to hit back against tech companies.

Middle-class income hit highest level on record in 2016, Census Bureau reports

Middle class had its highest-earning year ever in 2016, the U.S. Census Bureau reported this Tuesday.

Average income in America was $59,039 last year, higher then high of $58,655 1999.
Census Bureau reports the uptick in earnings occurred because so many people found full-time jobs or better-paying jobs last year.

Am in disagreement. The man has been a protectionist long before he considered running for president.

So an increase by $374 years in 18 years is a good thing? For context here here are some average prices in the US in 1999.
Toll bridge: $3.00
Basic cable: $32
Movie ticket: 5.00
Median gross rents for NYS - $672.

This has some very interesting data.

True middle class was the boomers. Today most people are barely middle class.

A decade ago $25k was low end middle class. Today, it is $45k. Soon $60k will be the new lower end.
