Well they just announced the new factory that they're gonna open in Staten Island. I take it this will be the home base for the drones haha. I wouldnt be surprised if they opened one in the Bronx too

If Amazon pick NYC for new Amazon location The Bronx is only space available for them all those empty buildings for massive space. The Bronx will see massive gentrification rather than 15 years down to 5 years also 50,000 extra jobs majority are them are high paying jobs all new hires
Bezos' toying with the Washington Post aside, no one with an understanding of free enterprise is going to locate a major facility in a "deep blue" city or state infested with tax-hungry politicians and their parasitic clientele, unless it can be removed fairly quickly.
I'd expect the facility to go to a "red" state, although the apparent change in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin might strengthen the case for them; of the four, only Pennsylvania currently has an amazon facility -- a mega-center on the west side of Allentown (but outside city limits).

I think Queens will be ideal for the new location. It has two major airports, and around long island city and Queens Plaza, there are huge industrial lots that sit vacant for years. Plus the new Cornell tech can produce enough talent for years to come
I think Chicago would be better. They usually extend massive corporate tax credits and the city has attracted many corporate headquarter relocations in the last decade. It's a big city that still has a lot of land parcels that can be better used. It's the largest freight railroad nexus in the US and has major hub airports. It's also relatively safe from natural disaster as far as major cities go. Chicago has also in recent years become the place for headquarters of major food and agricultural commodities corporations based in the US which ties in pretty well with their current push.
Amazon should pick Baltimore. It would revitalize their economy and gentrify the community. Big corporations like Amazon should spread out and not enter already condensed areas like NYC, LA, CHI, MIA, ATL, etc. Make other cities great this way people would spread out.

Amazon will go where they can get the biggest *bang* for the buck. Picked Staten Island in part because of the 18 million dollars in tax breaks they're getting, so why not? Likely got a nice deal on the land too.
NYC would be the best place, if Amazon wants to build teams of topnotch software engineering talent quickly. Outside of Silicon Valley, there is no better place than NYC.
