the area is not too bad. from what I hear and experienced, just stay away from Parkway Village (?) . those apartments look great, some have 2 levels , yard space, and even a basement for storage, but over $1000 in maintenance does not seem ok for me.

there is an express bus on Main Street, the grand central is right around the corner, but expect a 10-15 minutes ride to the Kew Gardens subway station.

there are some other Co Ops closer to Flushing Meadows Park, which is not bad if you want a big park to enjoy. bottom line, it seems to be a nice safe area, but

I agree with you. I lived near that area for years and would definitely agree that Kew Gardens has KG Hills beat on transit alone.

Kew Gardens and Kew Gardens Hills are two very different neighborhoods. They don't even share a border. Many consider Kew Gardens Hills as a subsection of Flushing.

I think it is part of Flushing actually.
