If I could own a brownstone there, I'd do it for a while

577 Madison Street captures the flavor of the new Bedford-Stuyvesant in Brooklyn

Kitchen is a go. Nice. The bathroom is alright but would they put the toilet tank so high? I envision problems with flooding. And look you gotta pull the cord to flush. That’s ridiculous. Dealbreaker

I'm so over it

Just wish Bed-Stuy could be 100% gentrified already so we could move on and whoever wants to cash out can do so.

When that day arrives, most of the posters here won’t be living in NYC anymore.

In 5 years Bed-Stuy will almost 100% gentrified, South Bronx and East Brooklyn will be 25%, Harlem will be 60%

Bed-study will never be 100% gentrified. It’s still plenty ghetto with many projects even though the crime rate has fallen significantly. Do not expect it to be the way of the west village w/ strollers, high end retail and stuck up yuppies. The west village is what you can call 100 % gentrified.

The trend of gentrification can always be reversed or calmed by factors like schooling for children, the economy, quality of living or trends.
