Seriously. New Yorkers know how to walk, but elsewhere! So slow!

I don't think I've been in cities crowded enough for it to matter.

In the US, the frustrating part is usually that walking in the city quickly has you going through massive parking lots, strip malls, and the parking lots of retail centers.

No, even Philly and DC don't have the "wall of meat" that Midtown Manhattan has during the daytime

Most cities aren't particularly pedestrian friendly and I get more annoyed at that really.

I am mostly referring to how people in other cities don't know how to walk. People taking up the whole sidewalk, going slow, etc. Even in dense areas of those cities.

I actually get really frustrated walking in the city, especially in the touristy areas.

But, on the other hand, I was recently in London and Paris. London was worse than being in NYC and I sensed the "natives" being frustrated having to deal with the tourists. Paris was much more laid back but the sidewalks on main streets were so wide that it was easy to walk around people.
