Good. These "placards" have been getting out of control. There are cars I have seen parked all over the city for months at a time with old placards on them. They had no experation date and are from years ago or are just faked.
Still waiting to see when or if there is a crackdown on spouses, mistresses, kids, siblings and anyone else those with placards pass around/loan like candy.
And don't get me started about all the "courtesy" shown by NYPD/Traffic Enforcement. You can call them all you want but they won't ticket anyone with a valid placard (doctor, LE from other jurisdiction, etc...) even if a vehicle is parked for days or weeks in same spot.
At least four physicians live in my street and they park wherever they wish for long as they want. Alternate side or even being in no standing or whatever does not apply. Even the Asian parking enforcement agents won't touch them; this even after a vehicle hasn't been moved in so long for street cleaning there is a hot mess of leaves and other debris around/near.
Most just zoom down the street and then park near a vehicle in question. If they see a placard either in their rear view mirror or without getting out of the car, they keep on keeping on.

it always have been out of control.
I observed the police station in midtown, there was warning leaflets on many windshields of police's personal cars that their placard wasn't acceptable. Leaflets said do not to park there or get towed. My money is betting that their personal cars will come back in a few months.
Italians have the fake placards on lock it seems, lol.
There were a few Russian/Eastern European names on that list IIRC as well.
