There are still affordable areas in Wash Heights. West of Broadway is expensive and gentrified. East of Broadway is not that great. There are signs of gentrification East of Broadway but that will take years.

If locals are smart enough, stick to your rs/rc apartments, school the kids, keep the block safe, and wait for the buyouts!

As for everywhere else, stop glamorizing these hood legends, and taking in the young, to show em how its done. Living hard is not a necessary survival skill, but the Bronx knows how to keep its reputation intact.

The vibe, eff the law, is just to strong to knock.

It's not really affordable for what it is

I'm guessing most of the locals can only afford it by living with roommates

This is not the first time such mass arrest lead by the Feds have been conducted in mott haven. This also shows how yet again the 40 precinct is SuperMario most disliked. A few years ago, my former elementary class mates who I went to school with, mind you all grown up now. About 50 were arrested in an atf sting from what I remember. They were part of the hell bound crips. Each individual did a plea bargain and served a max of 7 years. Most of there guys I knew are trying to repair their lives while some others fell back into the drug game.
