Of course if so many Black people weren't locked up for things white people arent locked up for, maybe more Black people would have better jobs and educations.
No one denied that there are Black professionals. Did we not see the Obamas in the White House?
But to pretend that Black people aren't disproportionately poor or otherwise locked out of opportunities that white peolme have is plain stupid. A white man with or without a college degree , even if he is a convict earns as much as a Black man with a bachelors degree. Only at the level of advanced degrees do think level out, but the percentage of the population with advanced degrees is small out of all races.
With that said one can work to improve the educational and job opportunities of Black people AND be concerned about police brutality.
I don't disagree with you completely. It's up to the individual person and to the group as awhile to work to make things better. No one can sit around on tales of misery.
Black people should not be concerned about police brutality. They should be concerned about economic inequality. Its the economic system that plagues them. If Eric Gardner did not get arrested so many times, he would have never been chocked to death by the racist NYPD. Being arrested so many times, what employer is going to hire him. Being locked out of the economic system will force many into black-market trades which are illegal to the state thus grounds for arrest.

The silly "economics solves everything" Bernbros argument
Yeah, I actually agree. I don't think it would be a good idea to come here without family - be unemployed and homeless. Of course, at the end of the day, people can do whatever they want.
Yup. People are just taking it out of context because it's election season.

Yes they should be concerned about police brutality if we know people
who get killed by the police. Whites for similar crimes are nowhere near as likely to be harmed by the police. Of course lots of white people fo drugs, but police don't lock white people up en masse. You and CaribNY are really foolish if you think people should accept this disparity.
With that said the nation as a whole has to address economic disparity issues. Cuomo made CUNY and SUNY free. Tennessee has free community college. Things like healthcare and education and how to pay for them affect everyone. To get into a good public school means your parents make enough money to live in a nice area, and nice areas attract better teachers and pay them more money. Many Americans who have houses lose their houses due to a parent going to the nursing home and Medicaid taking the house. There are clearly issues across the board that must separately to dealt with by all.
That does not excuse or justify mass incarceration or police brutality.

How many times have you been arrested? How often are you beaten up by the police? You make it sound like it happens often to you.
