Sorry (not really). We voted "no," and that takes care of it for another 20 years.

It was handily defeated, with teachers' unions, police unions...every union, and the NRA against it.

There was no way this was going to pass.

Looks like the gravy train will continue for another 20 years. Great job NO voters. To those who shrugged their shoulders and didn't vote at all, you should really be grateful that you have the privilege to exercise your constitutional right to vote that so many millions of men and women fought and died for. You take it for granted.

Even Cuomo flip-flopped on it and voted No. Mario is turning in his grave.

Again, something else one predicted from this election cycle.

While it did sound good on paper, opening up the NYS constitution to a convention is just too much of an unknown for certain people.

Churches/religious were worried about that mandate to care for the poor.

NRA worried about gun laws.

Unions worried about dilution of certain mandates that puff up their membership.

And so it goes.

The other process; bill passed twice by state assembly and senate is something that can be controlled and massaged. A few quiet words in senate and or assembly leader's ears and the thing dies.

I think so. even though some of these entitled employees work towards that Golden Goose Egg at retirement, they do have to act right, and be in the best interest of the public. they should uphold a standard.

Not true.

That's a separate proposition, and has nothing to do with a constitutional convention.
