NYC and NYS in general has one of the highest levels of voter apathy in the country.


Those in NYC politics know this so they can (and do) safely ignore much of the electorate, and concentrate on those likely to vote; union, the poor, minorities, etc...

Not all white transplants are from suburbia, most are from other urban areas I'd imagine. Los Angeles, Bay Area, Boston, etc.

He knows that. But he's right to point out that a huge part of the city is from elsewhere and may not care enough about the city to vote, in part because they are going to split. People always come and go in NY.

The city doesn't have any other qualify candidate. Although Nicole came in second, I personally think she is just not ready and up for the mayor position simply because she even question the agency that provides the stat on the crime.
