I'm looking at an alternative if things get bad on the Bruckner, Cross Bronx or even Gun Hill Road like it was just this morning.
Can a 13'6'' tractor trailer get underneath the White Plains Station @ E.233rd and White Plains road? It's a truck route but there are signs that say 12' 2''.
My goal is to get to the Yonkers Tandem area from the Throgs Neck.
Thoughts/ideas?
Thanks
Dave

12'2" I wouldn't. They are posted a foot lower than actual is the general consensus which would still leave you too tall.

Try 287 and Tappan Zee. No subway overpasses to hit though there lol. I refuse to deal with the Bronx any longer.

Nope, it's really 12' 2" or thereabouts. (I think it's 12' 8" actual)

Yeah thanks. I've given up on this alternate route. I'll stick to 95 to 287 or Gun Hill rd. to E.233 to 87. Therer's also the Bruckner to 87. Thanks for helping folks.

Why is it a truck route if it can't handle tractor trailers?

Don't know.
The city decides this I assume. It can handle tractor trailers up until the 12' 2'' over pass. I think It can handle TTs after the 12 2 overpass. But I see the problem Why bother if you can't pass all the way through?
