Obama care was/is... in Trump's words... a disaster. 5k per year in premiums for the most basic of basic plan for just me. Can;t even imagine the cost if i had a family. no dental, no vision either. Basically out of pocket for everything except one "free" checkup per year. I am not rich... but Obamacare only works for people that qualify for assistance... for everyone else it's awful.

oh yea, and my premium has gone up around 20% every year and there is no end in sight.

I understand and have no problem with the young and healthy paying for the old and sick... but if you're going to make the young and healthy pay, at least give them good health care too. It's a slap in the face to ask us to pay for others, while also depriving us of a decent plan.

And the plan hatched out by GOP and His Orangeness (to repeal basically) is so much better?

I also feel between a rock and a hard place. I don't have employer insurance, but don't qualify for the affordable care act discounts since I make too much money as a freelancer.

I had CareConnect for the last two years and I was pretty ok with that (even though not happy when I had to pay so much money when I needed to use a doctor). But at least I could FIND a doctor who would give me an appointment, since everyone in the Northwell network had to take Careconnect patients.

Prior to that, I had some super crappy Affordable health care act plan that I think was Emblem. I didn't understand when I signed up for it that doctors who claimed to take Emblem would all the sudden be so busy with other patients that they couldn't offer me an appointment once they learned I had this plan that would barely reimburse them for their time.

That's why I switched to Careconnect. But now I don't know what to do because Careconnect is gone. And time is ticking I have only 4 days left to figure this out.

Obviously not. Obamacare wasn't great. And the current health care situation under Trump is even worse!

I guess Trump supporters want to blame Obama for everything, yet they are totally incapable of fixing whatever they thought was wrong with what came before!

who knows, we haven't seen it in action and I havent seen the full details. but it certainly can't be much worse? At least before Obama care i had the option to just pay out of pocket when I went to the doc... which is what I did and it was usually under 1k per year dental included... but now there is a huge penalty for it...

You won't see anything in "action" because the GOP has had a hard on for nothing else but repealing ACA, period, end of discussion. That is all most of them want and everyone else can be damned for all they care. Congressmen have great insurance paid for by..... well taxpayers to be honest.

John McCain is getting world class TOL healthcare that one is willing to be many of his constituents cannot even dream about.

yep , first i had health republic go bankrupt on me , then care connect was driven out .

it is no surprise . what the aca did is force healthy people in to buying high cost insurance with really what amounts to having just catastrophic coverage since you pay for everything up to almost 7k each . so healthy people ended up paying the fine and just getting far cheaper catastrophic coverage .

that left the sickly and high risk customers left in the aca insurance pool . it was a disaster .

and yet you're blaming Trump yourself when his plans aren't even in place?

IDC much for politics, all i know is Obamacare sucked big time for me and basically for anyone that doesn't qualify for subsidies. And I never understood how having a market in which people are literally FORCED to buy health insurance, would promote competitive pricing.
