I've notified the 105th, my local Assemblyman, and I'm gonna shoot the Parks Department an email as well. Hopefully, something will get done about these punks, but I'm not holding my breath. A beautiful park in my neighborhood getting destroyed by ghetto scum. You just can't have anything nice anymore. They should move out to some affordable housing development in Suffolk County if they want to do this type of crap! Queens Crap: The dirt bike dirtbags of Wayanda Park

I live in a Bronx homeless shelter right now and yeah I see these types pretty frequently...are they high-level drug dealers or city workers' kids?? 'Cause they seem to have money for toys all the time. One small group was cruisin' 161st Street on Christmas Day -- but okay, it's empty then so I actually don't begrudge them that once a year. And to be fair, when and where are they supposed to play, anyway?

Luckily, I'm moving out to northeastern Queens soon where folks are sensible and don't tolerate this garbage. However, I did notice last year that Staten Island's Latourette Park also gets these types, though they're white kids (well, you know, white Puerto Ricans and/or swarthy Italians, too).

Do you really expect any better in that area? It's not exactly the most pristine neighborhood...

Southeast Queens is so overhyped. It's comical that the OP acts like he's in shock.

It's cheap, probably has Ctowns, Keyfoods, lots of gov't workers, what's not to like for those on a budget. To everyone else that can afford more, meh... we'd rather live without the riff raft and better schools.

Well that's my point. When you live in such areas on such a budget, these are the things you have to put up with. If you want less riff raff, you move to Northeast Queens or other expensive areas of Queens. Simple as that.

Those "toys" are not that expensive. I was going to buy a really nice Harley bike - totaling about 10K, and the thing was only going to cost me below $200 a month in payments.

A quad bike is much less. A Yamaha raptor with an engine of about 49cc is only $2,000. I imagine monthly payments to be, um, oh, I don't know 50 bucks?

I'm not in "shock", I'm pissed! I'm a RN, my wife works for the state, it's an area that we can afford. If you can afford a better neighborhood, well, good for you. I'm not going to sit around and take this ghetto nonsense. I file 311 complaints on a daily basis, confront litter bugs (some confrontations almost became physical), and attend my local community affairs meetings. I'm not going to sit there and let slobs ruin my area. Anyway, the demographics are starting to change in the neighborhood. Indians are starting to move in, and blacks are leaving. I saw the new owner of a house recently sold on Hollis Ave. The owner was an Indian gentlemen dressed in a suit and he had a briefcase, his young daughter happily skipping next to him. A new Indian restaurant just opened up on The Ave. If enough of them move in, my neighborhood will be the next Bellerose.
