Maybe in the Sh*tH*le area you live, but in NYC every single neighborhood is so diverse that there couldnt possibely be a specific leaning of anything! Unless you're from the Bronx, then you'd be a Yankee fan
I'm as conservative as they come and I have to disagree with you here, at least is some cases. South of the Staten Island Expressway is as red as it gets in NYC. You'd be hard pressed to find someone to oppose you if you start cheering "Trump!" randomly on any street south of the expressway.
I had no idea what neighborhood the OP lived in, but now that I know, I'd let my kids have playdates there. But south of there...not so much. I1995 thinks letting your kids have playdates in Brownsville or the South Bronx is perfectly normal without reason for hesitation.
How old are your kids? The days of playdates are over for us. Both mine are in high school now and if anything we have the opposite problem, especially since my son's school is relatively close by (teenagers here all the time).

My kids are younger. Why would you have the opposite problem? I thought Bedford Park was on the nicer side of the Bronx.
Yes it's nice. I mean it's the opposite situation with friends than we had sometimes when they were younger. If anything, there are too many kids (friends) over now. When both my kids went to school outside our neighborhood there were less friends over at any given time.
How do neighborhoods have political leanings? I just thought they had ethnicities, that might vote either way. My friend has posted Ron Paul stuff near east 125th st and hunts point ave, and nobody had a problem.
Bedford park has a high affluent population. If someone is saying it’s hood they’re prejudiced.
