Anything anywhere near Prospect Park is worth taking a look at!
Pros:
1) Near Prospect Park
2) Prewar buildings are wonderful!
3) Reasonable rents
4) Church Ave express stop...to Manhattan in 15 minutes!
Cons:
1) Church Avenue congested
2) some crime, although not much as people think!
3) Not many supermarkets
4) Reasonable rents, but not for long!

the only reason i live in e. harlem cuz i live in a rent control building...and that is the basically the only reason...if i were to pay the same rent as some of my luxury building neighbors...i would move out there long time ago. also my commute to work is 30 min doors to doors. for me...being single...im fine with that....but if i have a family and little kids... i wont wanna exposed my kids to the crime and violence.

yeah but similar deals like yours could be found in flatbush with perseverance (sp). also, depending on what part of flatbush you live, specifically propsect park south where the OP inquired about, you can get to 34th street in about 20 minutes, lower manhattan in about 15. with no public housing. i just thought it kinda odd for you to be so narrow-minded about flatbush considering where you live. i expect someone from douglaston or little neck to say the kind of things you do.

true i never visit flatbush area...but my experience living up in the bx. even though u dont live near pjs...there are tenements full of low income ppl. to me they are even worser than pj's. even though i live in e. harlem, i consider it safer than majority of the bx. and from ready some of the posters here..it seems the bx. hasn't change since i move out like 12 years ago. u won't caught me dead living in the bx. again.

Let me see if I understand this:
You have never been to Flatbush. Your latest post is about the Bronx when we were discussing Brooklyn. You live in East Harlem. Yet you feel qualified to advise someone whether or not they should live in Prospect Park South?
