NYC is on list for Amazon HQ2 and NYC little baby brother Newark, NJ on the list. The other cities are Miami, Boston, ATL, Chicago, L.A Philly, D.C Toronto, Denver, Dallas etc
It's hard to imagine Amazon building a headquarters in NYC considering the higher cost of real estate and our inefficient transportation systems. Then again, I'm surprised we made it this far.

The Bronx might be a good choice, but even though the real estate is more affordable how does it compare to the other cities on the list? They all have industrial areas with affordable real estate.
Also, can people make to work from other parts of the city reliably given our broken public transportation system with daily, significant delays and rerouting?
It doesn’t have to be. Relax zoning and upzone areas with mass transit especially in Manhattan and there would be less need for folks to go all over the city looking for housing.

All of those other cities have transportation / affordability issues of their own.

Except Amazon may very well chose an outer borough, particularly to spur development in an area the city wants to spur development in. Which is why I think it would be gentrification on steroids. South Bronx!
