LMAO

And then you guys wonder why I question these threads sometimes.
I drive into Manhattan often around that time. At least a couple times a week. I'm dropping kids off at multiple locations...running all over the place before work, etc... Sometimes it is faster to just drive into the city then search the streets of Brooklyn and Queens for parking close enough to a train station. And the subway is always much more crowded than the streets (I'm not crossing through Midtown). If I am driving and I see a spot I park then subway, ferry or bike it. But if I don't see a spot...I drive all the way in and early bird it in a garage.

I'm a native. We get around this city by any means possible. This is a tax on us natives. A transplant would never be able to compete with me when it comes to navigating this beautiful clusterfuk of a city. So they push politicians to tax us out of town, or build walls to create two cities.

I bet lots of people driving from westchester or the bronx will just start parking uptown (it's not THAT hard to find a spot uptown) and taking the subway downtown.

How much does the waiver cost? It cannot be TOO much because all the buildings recently going up in my area seem to have been able to buy them. Is there a particular City worker/councilperson/ department head who collects and launders the waiver "fee?"

I'm not sure if it has to do with transplants, more like what your political views are. Plenty of yuppie native New Yorkers are in favor of this, I'm sure.

I'm liberal and I'm against this idea, at least in its current form.

There is no special fee. It’s all part of the new building application process. As for buildings in your area, like I said there are areas that are exempt from minimum parking requirements but in general it is a requirement throughout the city.

That link I gave should have details on all the exempted areas if you really want to know.

Subways are going be more crowded no one paying that $11.52 toll. Manhattan parking garage charging $25 per hour to park or $50-$90 dollar flat rate plus tax

You are not liberal. Maybe you are a progressive, but definitely not liberal. I am a liberal in it's most pure form.

I was born in Elmhurst and I fully support this proposal. I never had any interest in using a car in the city.

Maybe all those conservative judges will rule rent control for residential unconstitutional. If Trump gets a second term and I think he will, we'll have more conservative justice appointments.

You are now born in Elmhurst? I thought you were a transplant?
