At first I thought those jackets belong to some Asian tour group people because they are worn almost 80% by Asians then I looked at the shoulder patch label it says Canada goose. They look so plain and boring looking but then suddenly I start seeing more colorful and bolder looking ones.

Then I checked the price tag, they start at $550 and majority of them are around $900+ Just when I thought iPhone X was overpriced.

Today is almost 50F, do you really need parka coats for the arctic?

It's called marketing. A lot of celebs, social media celebrities, etc are wearing them.

I am a North Face guy. I bought my 1st North Face in Senior year of HS (2002). That coat lasted me until 2015. I bought a new one and i feel like this coat will last me another 12 to 15 years.

They are very warm and work well from streets to slopes. They are also fully waterproof.

Best down jackets under a thousand. If you can afford it then get one. For me if it's over 30 degrees the coat gets real hot. That's why I also have a thinner Canada goose for when it's about 30s I think those go for around 500. For days like today I barely need a winter jacket and would even go without any jacket if I'm just driving from point to point with minimal exposure outside. I just don't get these idiots wearing them when its 40s and 50s out. I guess it's kinda like people wearing cashmere Burberry scarves when its not freezing out. I haven't touched my Burberry scarves for years because I just zip my Canada goose up high when its cold out.

A couple of years ago before these coats got popular I had someone come up to me on the streets asking if they can try out my jacket cause they want to buy one.

Moncler is mostly for woman. The last time my wife brought me one a couple of years back I told her to return it. It was something with the design and fit that made it look too metro sexual for me. That said i dont really like my wife's moncler coat. She has that standard shinning material one that I find ugly so she mostly wears her Canada goose when it gets cold out. I think she told me that Canada goose is warmer.

because they're warm as hell! best money i ever spent on a piece of clothing. I used to like North face and patagonia and all that other stuff but the quality among those jackets are just not up to par with Canada goose. When i had north face, over time the stitching would loosen up over time and i'd start to get feathers creeping through and falling out...

I've used and abused my canada goose and not a single feather has leaked out through the stitching or anywhere else.

Yes they're expensive but well worth every dollar.
