I wouldn't know; I've never been to one.
No, the one’s with beards and iPhones wouldn’t be caught dead in a Chipotle.

I don’t know where the notion that Chipotle’s are a sign of gentrification came from. Chipotle has no more status than McDonald’s or Applebee’s or Red Lobster.

No. but it’s coming. When the bx gentrifies the Art Deco buildings from 161 on up on the concourse will be a wrap. Fordham is ripe for gentrification when it happens. All the urban hood stores will be all be shuttered. Chipotle knew exactly what they were doing by setting up shop by the municipal buildings

I have both a beard and an IPhone and I live Chipotle.

Taco Bell is enough , screw chiotle! It's just a subways for a fake interpretation of Mexican food.

Chipotle in one hand,Starbucks on the other, while walking down the block with some uggs and sweat pants outfit!

Yes Chipotle is a sign of gentrification. There is no good reason to have a business like that in Spanish neighborhoods. My favorite Mexican food cart tacos will put Chipotle to shame. Gtfoh.

There have always been Taco Bells in Hispanic neighborhoods, they do not serve the same purpose as actual taquerias.

Not all of Harlem is Mexican heavy anyway.

HellUpInHarlem 1974: McDonald's is coming to the LES , it's a wrap!

Also, I saw a Starbucks in either Midwood or Flatlands, I'm not sure if I'd consider either a gentrifying neighborhood.

Hipsters don't seem to be into Chipotle, they like real Mexican food.

There's a Chipotle near my job in North Lawrence and most of the clientele does not seem to be the gentry type. And my Hispanic coworkers eat at Chipotle on a regular basis. They're not Mexican, though. Point being, it's a total myth that Chipotle is a white hipster/yuppie thing.

Hood neighborhoods are filled with chain businesses, I'm not sure why chains are associated with gentrification.
