I try to stash a few 100s into my wallet and keep it there. Because in NYC. When the lights go out, you are on your own buddy and cash is King.

Try getting your double shots with ATM card when the lights are out at the bar. Not happening.

I like having cash for that reason. I find it more convenient when buying drinks, plus bartenders and waiters seem to prefer cash tips.

And having cash is good for small transactions since a lot of businesses have a 5-10 dollar credit minimum.

I like to use my card. When I have too much cash in my hand at disposal, I can't keep track of how much was spent and where. I only have $30 max at one time in my wallet for quick store runs. Any more than that, I always think I either lost some or it was stolen smh

Use credit wherever accept it, and use cash at wherever doesn't take anything but cash. I don't have a problem with paying cash, but if I am buying some for hundreds of dollar, I expect to be able to put it on my credit card.

Yes, if I can't use credit.

Yes, if I am buying street food.

Yes, if I don't feel like charging $2.00 at some place like Dunkin Donuts.

Yes, if I am giving a tip---usually.

Yes, if they tell me they won't include the extra cost of them charging it in my purchase price. (Often the case with mechanics or other similar businesses.)

Pretty much this.

Restaurants, food carts, cafes, tips go in cash. Pretty much everything else goes on either my credit or debit card.
