He's at it again!

Mayor Bill de Boob along with this time the Mouth of Albany (Andrew Cuomo) have released plans to shut Riker's Island and transfer inmates to various lock-ups scattered around the four boroughs (Staten Island gets a pass, thank GOD!).

This is how things were before Riker's and it created no end of trouble for local communities. People you need to rise up and stop this madness before it starts. Cuomo and that other egit will be gone in four or whatever years, but local communities will be stuck suffering the outcome of this big liberal/progressive wet dream for decades.

Once Riker's is closed you can be sure this some kind of piece of mayor and city council will sell off, develop or whatever that property to ensure there's no going back.

I used to work across the street from Brooklyn House for a few years, the biggest problem in the area was not the inmates, but either people from the methadone clinic or people passing through on their way to Gowanus.

You could hear them faintly yelling sometimes late at night, but that was about it.

The Mott Haven location is dumb af. Why would you put up a jail by a major highway where the cons can escape?

They should just create a new facility on Riker's Island and create homeless shelter too.

There is going to be major NIMBY mentality about this proposal.

Successfully escaping from high security jail/prison seems pretty rare though
