This is a good example on why you never DEFER, you take the job the second you can get it. People used to come here and ask "should i defer? i'm going to Jamaica the day class starts" etc LOOOOOL
without a doubt! ive seen that with other jobs...people wound up waiting years to get a job because they had something else to do! remember they will move on to the next guy.. no one owes you a job!
Tim pros suck for this job...and im not at a running garage. gonna look into other brands this next round and report back on what i find for new guys at bottom pay/best value in my experience.... stay safe guys...rip to the brother from Q12.
We just lost our first sanitation worker to the virus. Sanitation worker Copeland was 46. He worked out of q12. As far as i know he is the first to pass from the virus. We have not received any protective equipment in my garage. If he got sick while at work that would be really unfortunate. We are the forgotten civil service in this city. This job is dangerous enough without the virus. R.i.p Copeland.
Additionally, budget writers are cutting $24 million from the Transportation Department and $80 million from the Sanitation Department, though $52 million comes from a budget surplus thanks to a mild winter season.
Another $106 million will come from a public sector hiring freeze and vacancy reductions.
