They have to put a class through at some point between now and 2 years from now when the hiring starts off the new list. Unless there is a hiring freeze until then but who knows

Also, just because they give a new test doesn't mean old list is automatically done. When I took my physical for 5001, there were candidates there from the previous exam before that , 6069 I think it was. Theres stilla lot of life in 5001, just have to hope they hire a decent amount to get thru it

Firstly, to the guys/gals that are already on the job but come back to share info and hope, you are awesome and big thanks to you.

Now, I kinda did a stupid thing and relocated back from another state when I heard my number was close and then covid hit... I am around 67##, it looks like I am royally fu#!ed and likely have to reconsider my life again. However, I read/heard somewhere that if a new list comes out, they might take some people from 5001 first before starting up new list? So for example list 5001 ends at person 6000, would then person 6001 be first to be called prior to new list?

Sounds too good and difficult to be true but I figured I ask anyway. Thanks again!

Yeah - First I'm hearing of this. I doubt it's true.

People have def been on both lists at some point, and if you meet them, it's probably because they bombed the first exam, and did better on the second exam. No two lists are ever active at the same time.

i was in first batch of physicals for 5001, i saw some people from previous SW exam 6069 who were at the bottom of that list, so there was some sort of overlapping but not much. Were they hired before their list expired, not so sure.

But yes once new list is certified, old one is pretty much out the door. But u still have some time, the test date isnt even given yet. Once the test date is posted , add 1.5 to 2 years to that and theres ur approx time frame for how much longer 5001 will live for .
