Does anyone here who has been through the medical appeal know how long it takes for them to make a decision? I have sent out my appeal back in December. And ever since I would call every week and they're always telling me it's still pending.
Took me about 10-11 months to get my medical appeal through. It's a long road buddy.
So in essence, they just put you in the back of the line, to go through another full medical and to get DQ'd again for the same reason?
No
I won my appeal and got the job.
Once the Civil Service Commission (§50 Candidate Appeals - Civil Service Commission) was satisfied with the work I had done to prove my side and provided all paperwork to them, they forwarded my Turned Over decision to the DSNY. DSNY RE-Reviewed my appeal from the CSC and emailed me to tell me that they accepted the decision and to come in for a new Medical (shortened version). I passed the second time around.
I was at FBF a few weeks later.
All depends what you were disqualified for. Each person's situation is different. Don't give up.
Called up today and they said they just sent out the orientation letter. March 11th 8am, number 37xx
