I wonder if the houses in Meadowmere use the dash system. And if mail ever gets mistakenly sent to the 1,2,3 streets in Western Queens.

They use a regular numbering system, not the continental numbering system that the rest of Queens uses. You can go on Google Street Views and see the address numbers on some of the houses.

That was a good find. If you look east of the Rockaways, headed to Riis Park, it's like you are not in NYC anymore. Huge contrast to the projects and current development in the area.
How is "east of the Rockaways" if you're headed west towards Riis Park??

There's a shopping center and you can head further out on Long Island for - well, for Long Island and whatever you might like there. And if you have a house with a dock, you can live in NYC and own a boat and go fishing or boating. My sister in law's neighbor used to travel as far as the George Washington Bridge by water from Meadowmere.

I also love Forgotten New York. Look up places you think you know and you'll be surprised what you can find out.

Oops, I was wrong to say that the shopping center is in Nassau, I mistakenly thought that was the case since it's named "Five Towns Shopping Center"

Aren't some streets in the Rockaways also like that?
