Hi, guys. So I just got a studio in Jackson Heights. I know there is a ton of restaurants in the area but does anyone know where to begin? I need a Mexican, an Italian and a Chinese spot. I've already got an Indian place in BK I'm loyal to so I'm good there. Any sports bars for Yankee/Ranger games to check out?
The restaurants that I know in Jackson Heights that are good are Jackson Diner (Indian), Tomo (Japanese) and Mi Estrella (a combined Chinese-Cuban restaurant).
Indian Taj was my favorite for a buffet lunch, better than Jackson Diner and a couple bucks less. I am not sure if they are still open: they seem to be.
For Mexican, a lot of people swear by El Rico Tinto, which is considered Mexican/Colombian. I have only been there once for empanadas. The other Mexican places I've been meaning to try are Juquila and El Maguey. Some people seem to love La Taqueria Coatzingo but I didn't like it.
Besides that, for Mexican, you have a bunch of places that are tacos and small take-out bites only, like La Esquina de Camaron, which is in the back of a convenience store. Despite being so small, that place was reviewed in the Times.
I'm not a sports fan, but the people I know who go to sports bars have mentioned Legends, Cassidy's and Barriles. Barriles is more Latin American-focused so I'm not sure what games are played, but they do have tons of screens. (You could also go to Woodside for sports bars. I'm not sure what is there but probably more choices than Jackson Heights.)
For Italian takeout, check out Louie's near Elmhurst hospital. It's called Louie's Pizza but they have a bunch of Italian entrees as well.

These are great suggestions, especially Louie's--will add that I'm partial to the bbq at Legends.
