Wow, 6ix9ine made it to 3 on the Billboard hot 100
He always brags about having songs on the billboard but they usually don't get very far. But that Fefe song made it to number 3, which is crazy to me because that's one of the wackest songs I heard from him. I guess it's very radio friendly though, and having Nicki Minaj on a track helps a lot.

Yeah but he released several songs before that and they got a lot of views but not the mainstream success of this song. The more pop friendly sound and Nicki Minaj feature are what got him there.
I'm personally not into his stuff but he's definitely unique and I would say he put NYC back on the map in the hip-hop game. Also, its cool to see how big he has grown, beyond my expectations. I've seen him a good 3 years ago when he was doing very local stuff and was very popular out in Eastern Europe. Now he's doing songs with Nicki Minaj, meeting with 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather and other very powerful and influential figures. It's actually quite impressive. As a 31 year old man though, I'm not into his music. If I was a teenager to at least 23 when I was in my most angst years, I can see myself totally having his music on repeat. My musical taste and palate has matured past that. Granted I do like aggressive music like hip-hop and my favorite rappers were guys like DMX, Big Pun, Big L. Thing is DMX had much more substance to his music, even if it were the hyper aggressive kind. Anyway, right now Tekashi is running the hip-hop game and is a very smart individual, whether people like it or not. He knows exactly what he's doing.

NYC got Aboogie, 6ix9ine, Nikki Minaj, Cardi B, Dave East right now but Atlanta still dominate hip hop game because of support is stronger there.
