@Favor4me1, it's generally one year probation, a full calendar year from your date of hire (1st day on payroll).
You can ask at the interview - generally they would try to work with you, but you don't have much paid time off to start - there's a risk that you might have to take unpaid leave if it's a long vacation in your first few months of work.
You might have to start later, or take unpaid leave - canceling the trip should be the last option.
Thanks for the info. Still waiting, just wondering in case my turn comes!!
I still haven't heard. I was to respond with my canvas letter by 10/8. Is this normal I haven't been called yet? For an interview?
The way things have been going who knows... From my experience, I have been canvassed and not offered an interview and then received the dreaded "unreachable" letter... In the 8th JD they send letters for interviews, so I check my mail box often, lol... if you're being canvassed they're at least within your ranking and due to Covid putting a hold on things for a while, this list may be extended, so there's still a chance... the waiting is hard, but hopefully we will both be hired in the near future!!!!

I just received an email for a virtual interview with Nassau County on November 9th, and I was wondering if anyone could provide a general overview of how the interview is conducted? What sort of questions should I expect? How long does it typically last?
Any information would be really appreciated! Good luck to all those still waiting.
Hello! I have no answers for you but a quick question. What was your rank? I'm waiting for my interview with Nassau as well. I sent my paperwork in on the 5th if October and haven't heard anything yet!

When, after you interviewed did you hear whether you were hired or not. Like by way of time? A week, a month? Sorry for all the questions
If I recall correctly, I interviewed for Family Court (NYC) back in early 2019. I obviously wasn't selected, and received a letter informing of their decision a few weeks after the interview.
I got my email about an interview via TEAMS. I'm so nervous. My rank is 75x so I am feeling like I will get the not reached by rank number letter will come.
