East New York is probably one of the most affordable places left in NYC. Oh well at least they get a new building.

There are already 2 nursing homes on Linden Blvd in East NY. Seems Linden Blvd is a good spot for nursing homes.

What a depressing place for a nursing home

Life comes to end, in ENY.

How ironic.

There is a fairly large nursing home on Linden Blvd and Ashford. It was started by caribbean immigrants and expanded to what it is now. It has provided a good life for it's owners and it's employees while providing a service to it's clients. Not everyone can afford to start a business in an acceptable to SOME neighborhood. ENY has a sizable population who also have health insurance (or not), who need rehabilitative care.

I have spoken to people with family members in nursing homes in good neighborhoods who still complained about the level of care that their family received.

The people who need the services of these nursing homes and cannot afford to or want to go elsewhere are glad that it is available in that 'depressing neighborhood'.

I'm not talking about the quality of the neighborhood, I just mean that Linden Blvd is not very scenic.

You don't go to a nursing home for scenery. Have you ever had to deal disabled seniors? All that matters is the quality of care within the facility itself, and the quality of the building itself.

That's what's most important, but I'm guessing the more functional people there still look out the window and go outside.
