I get my MTA fare subsidized by my job, but some months, the amount I get on the card does not cover a full 30 day pass.
What I wanted to do is use the card I get from my company to buy a 30 day pass, and if there is another $10 or so still needed, pay for it with my own credit card.
I know you can do this on MetroNorth; can you do it for the subway?

No, not with metrocard. What you can do is add more money into your company subsidized credit card like a credit card payment. This way you will have enough money to buy for whatever amount you want. I think the program is called commuter transit benefit.

Why is not an unlimited monthly pass enough for all the rides you take, Hudlander?

Can I add money from my own personal credit card to the commuter card?

Monthly is enough, but I only got $115 this month, need $6 of my own to cover the balance...
