Let's create more shelters, that's the solution. Get the NYC residents to pay for it with property tax hikes and more ticket blitz. Hey a few months of ticket blitz and hikes in tickets will easily rake in a couple of mil.

That still annoys me to no end. Not that anyone with half a brain won't keep calling it the Tappan Zee, just like everyone keeps calling the Queensboro (or 59th Street) Bridge and the Triboro Bridge

Wouldn't be surprised to see our genius mayor go after the historic Brooklyn bridge too, we could then call it the Big Bozo

As a Brooklyn native I can’t lie I stopped calling Jackie Robinson the interborough but The Brooklyn Battery Tunnel will always be just that. Honestly half the time I forget the new name of it!

I had no idea that they renamed the Tappan Zee. And you are right, it will always be the Tappan Zee (just like 6th Ave. will NEVER be the Avenue of the Americas).

That's because they basically did it in the dead of the night - not kidding.

There is a campaign to return the "Tappan Zee" part of the name. Some idiots claimed it was just republicans hating on democrats who didn't want the long known Tappan Zee bridge to be renamed the Mario Cuomo Bridge. So now the campaign has said its fine with renaming it the Tappan Zee Governor Mario Cuomo Bridge. That shut them up.
