My family has a house in Brooklyn. They found out they have termites there and they had an inspector come and take a look at it and they said they have subterranean termites in the basement area. This is from a company that is pretty reputable and very good reviews on yelp. They are charging around $1800 for it. They asked around and there is another company that would do it for $1100 or so. First off, what is the average cost for something like this typically? Basically the places they contacted, almost all said yes you have termites and they are subterranean termites after sending them a picture of it.

I'm curious but do prices for these pest removing services very similar? I took a look at yelp and wow there are so many of these pest removing services in Brooklyn. Many of them have great reviews. But are the costs generally the same? And when you call them, if you tell them this is 100% subterranean termites, they would give you a good quote on how much this would cost right? Also most places do charge for inspection right? Because the place we contacted, there is no inspection fee. They told them that these termites are dangerous but not that dangerous as oppose to other termites. They asked them could it destroy the house... they said not these termites... but if these termites are not gone, then there would be more eggs and say many years down the line, the house could be destroyed. Does anyone here have experience on this?

And if i call this places on yelp, most should be able to quote you a rate right? So what information would you need to give them? The dimension of the house and where its located etc? Also no one here has gotten rid of these by those spray bottles right you buy on amazon or home depot right?
