Uhhh...Englewood is one of the top warzones of Chicago. The NYPD would never let it get that far.
As far as the Bronx being like the Gold Coast, I can see the Grand Concourse becoming more upscale along with areas south of the expressway. North of there the commutes are too long.

Just like there is a large market for an under million dollar homes in nyc, there is an even bigger demand for rents in the 1500-2k range especially in a new luxury building
The Bronx rents will be $1800-$2300 for upscale apartments cheaper than Brooklyn/Queens
It can’t be Westchester because rent prices in Yonkers, Mont Vernon, White Plains, New Rochelle, Port Chester is $1250 and up. You can find below 1200 in those cities but it crappy apartment and not much in those price range.
Studio basement apartments in Throggs Neck are quite common. Most are illegal. That being said, probably not simply because I prefer a separate bedroom which can be had for the same price in TN.
No, too dungeon like and too far from the subway. Forget it.
