It can’t be Westchester because rent prices in Yonkers, Mont Vernon, White Plains, New Rochelle, Port Chester is $1250 and up. You can find below 1200 in those cities but it crappy apartment and not much in those price range.

Studio basement apartments in Throggs Neck are quite common. Most are illegal. That being said, probably not simply because I prefer a separate bedroom which can be had for the same price in TN.
