It rained early yesterday evening then things became really moist. Went out to meet friends on UWS around 8PM and it was warm and muggy.
Came home and was that close to giving in and cranking up the AC. But chose to put on the big fan and another in widow (to exhaust warm air), and things soon cooled down enough for sleeping.
AC hasn't been taken out of wall and cleaned yet, so there was another reason didn't want to turn it on just yet. Need to get that done before Memorial Day weekend.
This is just another reminder I need to retire earlier. These NY weather shifts are too hard on the body. Moving to a sub-tropical area where it is CONSISTENTLY one pattern for 6 months at a time. Going from 55 degrees and no humidity to 90 and 60% humidity is not good.
Back in the day when people had ice boxes (and later freezers) you put some ice in a bowl or whatever, set it in front of a fan and volia! You had "air conditioning". *LOL* Think there were even appliances that pretty much used this method.
Movie theaters did with blocks of ice in front of huge fans but that was a little before my time.
The temperature right now is fine. Earlier the sun was peeking out with blue skies as if it were some storybook day. Nope. Clouds now, and I’m not mad.
WE are going to Chinatown today for duck...walking in this gooey soup does not thrill me.
funny , opposite the drum studio i go to is a place that sells the ducks. after drumming later today i was getting 1/2 a duck . there is not a lot to eat though once you remove the skin and fat but they are so good .
I just went across the street to Pret to grab lunch - it's really gross outside
