MQ, Have you tried TINA'S, basically the same as Sophie's but those low prices on 56th (23 West 56th) stand out from their high priced neighbors? We generally do Tina's for lunch after MOMA.
No, I have not, but thank you for telling me about it. Looked it up. My Cuban friend works for a company that sets up theater tours and improv seminars and things for high school drama classes, and she gets free tickets for shows sometimes. The next time she invites me, I'm going to suggest we eat there.

I did ‘a taste of seafood’ again last night

Had like 7 people in front of me. They threw in the iced tea and cornbread for the wait

I am getting the yen for TOSF again, HUIH, but first order of business is the half country duck at Bo Ky that we have had on hold because of this unbearable weather. (Schlepping around crowded Chinatown at 95 degrees is just TOO much aggravation and that circuitous Canal Street station doesn't help at all.)

So Bo Ky tomorrow and then fish and chips the next cool day.

I am glad you commented on that cornbread because I was having a Deuce of a time figuring out what kind of fish it was.

remember they typically serve whiting, but you can get catfish, tilapia, or flounder

That piece of cornbread was as big as my hand

We mixed flounder and whiting the last time. THe whiting is the better deal. Next time the catfish. (Tilapia I make at home, with a white wine-butter sauce in 5 minutes, so no need to ever order it out.)

What place is this that wastes so much plastic? I bet all of that plastic gets thrown in the garbage.

True, but most people won't be recycling that plastic, even though they can (and should).
