Manhattan bond 7 train and M60 select bus service, Q48, Q19, Q66 possible ferry service in future from Harlem and 59th street area
"The LaGuardia AirTrain will not travel along the Grand Central Parkway, after East Elmhurst residents opposed the placement of the rail on the road, two state elected officials said last week."
"The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and Gov. Cuomo’s office are now working on a new route that would see the planned tracks — which would connect the airport with the No. 7 subway and Long Island Rail Road at Willets Point — placed over the Flushing Bay Promenade, or directly above the water."
This thing shouldn't even be built. It ends in the middle of nowhere. You can take the LIRR to Woodside or the subway to Jackson Heights and then take the Q70, or take the N/W to Astoria Blvd for the M60 and get there much quicker.

Chicago has train connections to O'hare and Midway airports NYC only for JFK

People from Westchester and other areas use Harlem 125th Street Metro North Station for M60 bus service or Uber/Taxis services
The plan has received mixed reactions, with Queens Borough President Melinda Katz backing it and the Ditmars Boulevard Block Association opposing it. The civic, in an April 16 open letter, said it is opposed to putting the line above the GCP because it would cause further disruption to East Elmhurst residents, who already have had to deal with the effects of the reconstruction of LaGuardia.
“We stress the myriad health and property damage concerns attendant to construction of the proposed route,” the group states. “The airport and vehicle traffic already impinge on air quality in our neighborhood.”
These residents are stupid. If you don’t want more airport and vehicle traffic, then having this Airtrain will reduce airport and vehicle traffic because it will carry thousands of passengers everyday that otherwise would have had to use vehicles (car/taxi/Uber/bus) to get to/from the airport.
For supposedly a world class city, New Yorkers can be pretty ignorant and stupid.

The city need educate the residents about benefits because it seem they clueless
Queens resident's opposed the building of the Airtrain to JFK via Van Wyck Blvd. But it was built regardless.
To finalize the Airtrain is going to require state legislation. The state and the Port Authority should ignore the fools and build over GCP. Honestly Giuliani wanted to extend the N train over GCP to LaGuardia but Queens resident's opposed that. Had they not opposed that we would have had a more direct route to LGA.

Or just ignore these fools from a small section of Queens who don't have enough votes to sway elections. Who cares if they don't like something? They don't have the right to hold up things for the rest of the city.
