Different type of woman. You can’t compare a 29-30 year old woman who comes from better background and celebrity to a 47 year old beauty pageant who seeked attention and took off her clothes for fame.
Most 47 year old Women (even Hollywood celebrities with money for the finest age defying products) do not look like that.
If she was of sound mind she would easily be able to coast by on sponsorships.

Many people say that she had, "emotional turmoil" and a, "mental illness." So here's the question that I have: When is it considered evil and when is it considered a mental illness?

A lot of mental illnesses is undiagnosed and further more one can develop mental illness later in life and especially after traumatic situations. Anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, etc make people act in very erratic, dangerous, and self destructive ways. This isn’t excusing her behavior but possibly explaining why she would have done it. For example, postpartum depression is a very real condition and is an explanation for why otherwise previously normally behaving women snap and harm themselves and (sadly) sometimes their children.
I’m not an expert but I guess the difference is that even when suffering from mental illness, one can still be held accountable for their actions assuming they are not totally disconnected from reality. It’s probably a fine line which is why people that try to “plead insanity” don’t always win.
