Building supers usually do it for $20. If it needs a bracket you'll have to pay for that too.

I think I paid $40 for my building super to install my air conditioner and this included the bracket (which the super provided) some years ago.

You gotta ask a super to do it. Give the man money for puttin it in. Your landlord might charge you a monthly fee tho

I paid $100 to get it installed by PC Richards which comes with 1 year service. But then again that was an option as a part of a new AC. I don't think they will service ACs not bought at the store.

Weston Bros if you want a pricey professional job. Search Yelp for a handyman if you want to pay a little less. I asked around and found a super from a neighboring building who did it for $50. Our own super could not do it due to liability issues (this is a coop. A lot of rules)

Keep in mind if the landlord said "no", then the superintendent (who is an employee of same), may not be able to install the AC either. Liability is the same since the latter works for former and thus assumed under his direction.

Of course if the LL only meant he didn't know of anyone personally to recommend, that is another matter.

Pay someone to install it and above all keep the receipt.
Have same person remove it .

To avoid future issues lean towards the purchase of a portable A.C.
It rolls to the window and you stick the long hose out and close the window. That's it.
