Eh, a lot of the US is pretty awful for disabled people in terms of being terribly isolating especially without driving or a driver. None of this sounds that crazy to me.

Thats a fact tho
Ur right
Not many options
Most disabled people from my experience try to be as independent as possible
That is how the s--t is supposed to work!
Assistance for those that need.
And its supposed to be there!
Insane.

Moving to NY with no money, disablities and bad health is a bad idea.
I’m in great health, make good money, have low living expenses and it’s STILL rough for me. It would be different if you had a support system in place. Like family/friends you could stay with who could help out.
Have you exusted all resources available to you in AZ? Mayo client is the best cancer treatment center in the country! They even rival Sloane Kettering.
There has to be a better way then moving to the most hectic, expensive city in the country (world).
I've been in the medical field my whole life. I can't stand the drs here. I don't trust them. I have to go over my scans with them to question creation tumors we are watching etc. I still stay in touch with my team at Sinai.
I'm orig from mn so used to snow. I hate it but we stay in if bad. My family spread out across country Steve's family no real communication. We have good ins so we will just have to switch over to another medicare hMo with prescription coverage. And we really miss NY and hubby hates AZ

Everyone wants to be in NY, but I think you have to ask yourself if it’s feasible.
For your budget your going to be far from the city, in the Hood most likely, and the accommodations are going to be crappy. If you can deal with that, go for it. If I were in your position I would stay in AZ.
My Sinai is one of the best because because it's also a teaching hospital. They are my support, seriously. And also support for Steve, all his doctors are there. In fact one of the np's on my team and a coworker calls me every few weeks to catch up. And your right, Steve feels so isolated!.
Then I think how do I make this all happen...sell the house...hire moving company..fly to my..stay in hotel couple days and hope we find something?
That's where I'm stuck!!!
He'll, maybe I'll just move to Vegas
Seriously, thank you everyone for helping me...I so want this to work but I'm really listening to you.
Basically, comes down to this, if and when I die, I need for Steve to be back in my where he is familiar. He has niece in city sister in Hampton bays. Then I'll be at peace
We make $65,000 year on disability and pension and long term dis plan. Once we sell house can pay off bill, won't have car pymt, house ins,car tabs, etc so hopefully will help.
