Isn't Bed Stuy in one of the most dangerous precincts?

Bedford and Stuyvesant have different precincts. And yes, they still rank pretty poorly, especially Stuyvesant. Bushwick has been able to shake the crime thing a lot better than Bed-Stuy has.

I'd actually consider buying a vinyl rowhouse in Bushwick and convert it to wood shingle before a brownstone in Bed-Stuy.

Bed-Stuy is like Harlem. There are sections that are just fine. Plenty of nice, quaint blocks that are tree-lined with brownstones, just as quiet and charming as Brooklyn Heights.

Any part of Harlem would be my guess.

And Bushwick is like the East Village, Lower East Side and Williamsburg. All of which have gentrified faster than Harlem and Bed-Stuy.

nah, bushwick is a dump, the housing stuck as always been the worst in the city, crappy houses, lots of warehouses, not many parks, crappy schools. not much of that have changed.

Bushwick is not successful, is leaching on williambourg. and about the gentrification, Harlem has always had upper class residents, none part of Bushwick will ever be as wealthy as morningside heights. Harlem is not full of hipsters but is clearly richer with better parks and Universities inside. single family homes are about two times more expensive in Harlem. You seem to belive that hipters are the economic drive behind gentrification, they are not, they are the vanguard. hipsters spend 60% of their low millennial income in rent to drink 2$ PBRs on weekends.

Just stop it. I have friends that lived in Bushwick that would say they lived in "East Williamsburg". Bushwick is doing well because it's next to Williamsburg and closer to Manhattan, not because it's more desirable due to housing stock or anything like that.

Bed stuy brownstone prices are way higher than Bushwick vinyl.

Crime will go away, those ugly houses won’t.

Then the L train shut down.
