The person was directed to the Visitor Control Center to obtain a daily pass. Upon signing a waiver permitting a background check, Department of the Army Access Control standard for all visitors, an active Immigration and Customs Enforcement warrant was discovered on file. This prompted the Department of Emergency Services (DES) personnel to contact the proper authorities, and transport the individual to DES for further processing, and released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. DOD installation commanders are authorized to take reasonably necessary and lawful measures to maintain law and order and protect installation personnel and property. This enables the Fort Hamilton commander to enforce a safe and secure working environment suitable for all. No further information is available on this incident at this time.”

This was by the book. Excellent work by Fort Hamilton!
I wonder if it was explained to him in English. Maybe a language barrier?

The last 3 sentences make no sense. Were they actually trying to protect the personal from a pizza guy? bunch of wussies. "reasonably necessary and lawful measures" ? The commanders have no discretion? I am surprised they did not throw in "officer safety", oh its the same crap in a different suit.

They make it sound like he tried to drive through the guards. They could have sent him away. I hope they enjoy the last slice they will ever get delivered. Hope Sunset Park and Bayridge join in protest, and ban deliveries from that base. Block the number.

Why will they require a visitors pass for each and every delivery. I have done access control before, who ever calls for the delivery, needs to come and get their food, or wait till it gets there. That is the norm.

And to remind folks, all of your true Americans ,whose has family that came here on a boat, 100 years ago had it easy. There was no need to apply for a visa. there was no one being checked for papers, and Grand Ma still speaks no English.

But if someone breaks immigration laws, they should be deported instead of being allowed to stay, able to get a job, able to get government benefits, and have their kids college tuition paid for.

Makes plenty of sense to me. Kudos to Fort Hamilton for doing its job and for ICE for taking this fugitive into custody. I'm tired of people breaking our laws. I'm tired of the left giving more of a damn about people who have no right to be in our country vs. their fellow countrymen and countrywomen; indeed, I see no similar outcry for those families being broken apart when a US citizen parent is arrested/jailed for breaking the law. I'm tired of being tired over what is an open and shut situation.

Take a look at this gem:

Quote:
The manager at Nonna Delia’s, the Queens pizza shop where Calderon was employed, said that Calderon’s family was suffering and that he didn’t deserve to be detained.

“He’s a great worker, good man, good family guy. Pray for the family, that’s all I can say,” said the manager, who declined to give his name.

I say its time to shut this business down for hiring illegal immigrants. You'd think that people/businesses who were complicit in illegal activity would shut their mouths and keep a low profile.

What a disgraceful action by this judge; not shocked its an Obama judge. Ultimately, the judge has no basis to stop the deportation. The man is subject to deportation as a fugitive from justice after receiving adequate due process years ago.

And for you phonies saying "I am tired of Illegals Breaking Laws", you will have a different tune when nypd decides to f you on some trumped up charges, cause they feel like it. No go back to wearing your MAGA hat, while wacking off to your stash of Stormey Daniels Porn. Yuk!

Fugitive? The man was a normal guy, earning a living for his family, harming nobody! Of course, it would have been better if he had his legal situation in the country sorted out but you have no idea how incredibly hard it is to get the citizenship.

Yes, he was a fugitive, no matter how some try to spin things. He voluntarily agreed to self deport in 2010, but didn't end up doing so. Thus, an immigration court issued a final order of deportation. In ignoring that order, yes, he became a fugitive.

And I know how hard it is to get citizenship. That does not justify people breaking our laws.
