Amish Market was cute - expensive though. Moreso than I was hoping. But, whatever.
I told you to go to Whole Foods, but you didn't want to listen. Most of the places over there are a rip-off. Going to Whole Foods, you'll at least get good quality for the money.

Your joking right? She went to the Amish market. Thats good quality, if not better and cheaper then whole foods. And I shop at whole foods weekly. Its not like she went to food town . I have a hard time you are really a male with the way you constantly ***** and moan and put people down

Yeah. I like the Amish Market. I don't find them to be all that more expensive than Whole Foods. I like that place. I go to the one on 9th Ave. It's only a few blocks from my apt. and I love it. It beats Food Emporium or Gristedes. The lines aren't so crazy long, the cashiers are friendly and they have a lot of interesting items but not so overwhelming as Whole Foods with the unbelievable lines and that color coding whatever system that they have when you get on line.
I find that I have to brace myself for Whole Foods. Not so with Amish Market.
You've got Tutties on 50th between Lex and THird and a Gristede's at 49th and Third.
There's no Gristedes at 49th & 3rd. The Gristedes is at 40th & 2nd.
There's a whole bunch of places for fresh food in the area and they're all acceptable. The cheapest is probably the Morton Williams on 2nd between 49th and 50th and the bonus is they are open 24 hours.
Personally for the balance between quality and price I prefer the Fairway all the way down in Kips Bay on 2nd & 31st.
Yes, the Amish Market was nice and close by. It got the job done for the short time we are here. We are eating dinner out every night - it's just not practical eating stuff in the room out of a mini fridge with no microwave. It's been good for breakfast and snacks. And one day I had lunch from what I bought there.
The rest of my family arrives tomorrow night. We'll be out of the room 90% of the time we are awake, so other than a quick breakfast bite, we won't need any more stuff in our room. Our hotel also has free yogurt and apples downstairs.
New York is pretty great. Nuts though. It's been interesting working here this week.
It's funny, some people on the thread still think I'm female. It's been a dad/daughter week.

OP obviously didn't care for the prices at the Amish place and stated as much. I'm not sure what you're (not "your") talking about? If you know what to buy at Whole Foods, you can get great deals. I have a hard time believing you shop at Whole Foods weekly. The location at East 57th street is carries good things overall, though their fruit isn't the best. For that I go to other locations.
