Drug-addled Bronx mom who had 3 kids taken away by ACS charged with murder after throwing 5-month-old son against a wall, cops say
McLeod was arraigned in Bronx Criminal Court on Wednesday.
A Bronx mom faces murder charges after she threw her 5-month-old son against a wall, killing him, police said — and the tot's family say she's an abusive drug addict who had three previous kids taken away by ACS.
Police found little Raymond Porfil lifeless in his crib in his mom's 13th-floor apartment at the Bronx River Houses on Bronx River Ave. in Soundview at 10 a.m. on June 4, police said.
Medics rushed Raymond to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died. The city medical examiner's office has not determined the tot's cause of death, but police have ruled him a homicide victim.
On Tuesday, police arrested his mom, Joann McLeod, 30.
Not only did McLeod admit to hurling her infant at a wall, she delayed getting him medical attention because she was "afraid of going to jail," according to a criminal court complaint.
"She was a bad, bad mother. She killed my baby," said Raymond's dad, Raymond Porfil Sr., 49. "Every time he cried, she would spank and spank him. . . . She was smoking K2 all the time behind my back."
Porfil said he has an older daughter with McLeod, 16-month-old Ray Jasmine, who was in the apartment when the violence occurred.
Why do you have unprotected sex with someone who is a drug addict? I bet the father is on drugs as well and they need to take the remaining child out his care. Obviously he has bad judgment, she already had 3 kids taken away from her yet he produce more kids with a horrible mother
Sadly the little baby is better off. He had NO CHANCE with parents like that.
I never understand why people that have no business having kids feel like they need to have kids. YOU DON"T!!

Many years ago, Id help out at HaleHouse, before Mother Hales daughter turned corrupt, cheated and took money from her wonderful mothers charity. I worked with the babies. Poor babies were so sweet and precious born the drug addicted mothers who were suppose to be getting help while their children stayed at mother hales. These children ended up there for years. I'll never forget little Roman, born blind and deaf from his mothers problems but he was the sweetest little boy who just wanted love and attention.

Oh, this was so hard to read. I'll lose it if I think about it too much.
And what a shame regarding Mother Hale. That's precisely why I do a lot of research before I donate to any kind of charity. You just never know if the money is being used appropriately. That's why I prefer volunteering instead.

I do the same. But the saddest thing is when an organization goes corrupt that you were volunteering at and then they have to stop volunteers. Who suffers then...the people you were helping out to begin with. F- the organization but don't let people helping out those in need not be able to come any more.
