I have heard that is impossible to find one bedroom below 1000 dollar in NYC but when I had saw in website craigslist I have found plenty of rooms between 500 and 700 dollar utilities included (1 bedroom in an apartment with kitchen+ bathroom shared ) sometimes with also living room shared furthermore it is possible to find a studio 1 bed for 700 dollar yes a have found it in craigslist you can try yourself in craigslist but you should adjust the settingsā search for below/max 700 dollar
What are you thinking is that realistic and true?
Thanks in advance
Well, I took the time and search craigslist. Yes most of the 500, 600, and 700 are rooms in 2-3 bedroom apts. But others are fake... a lot of the studios listed in manhattan and brooklyn for 400 or 500 are fake,, they only provide a link to a real estate company and they dont have the studio in their listing, just a way to bring customers.
I don't know about getting an apartment between 500 - 700. That, as you stated and others, would be a room in an apartment and that is a fairly common price range. You can get an apartment (Studio or 1 Bedroom), outside of Manhattan, for under 1000.00 but it is based on your own tolerance of a neighborhood and how far you want to live from Manhattan.
I think it's quite possible to find a share between $500 and $700 in many neighborhoods with subway access such as Midwood, Bay Ridge, Bushwick, Ridgewood, Elmhurst, etc.
There are probably even some pretty nice shares, though I did see one listed in Bushwick where you couldn't take a shower before 10am because the bathroom was too much in demand by the other roommates. So I guess just read the fine print first.
As for studios under $700, I suspect that you're going to end up in a pretty undesirable place or neighborhood at that price. Raise it to $800 and you might have a few better options. The only one ad I clicked on with photos was in Jamaica, a basement studio and it looked very very bleak.

I have my own 1 bedroom on the Astoria/E. Elmhurst area for $750 a month, right off of Ditmars Blvd. It's a good, quiet area and the apartment is in great shape. No bugs/rodents or anything. I just caught a really good deal on craigslist.
