For several reasons, we should expect a less crowded summer with more living and working space for our NYC residents this summer, hurray!! Anyone cares to know or opine what the reasons are???

They said we will have less tourists last year because of Trump and Brexit, but we had a record number.
I welcome all the tourists to NYC. They are good for the economy and keep my taxes just a little bit lower.

They also pay taxes. I prefer tourists paying for NYC welfare system than me personally.

Agreed. I could do with fewer of them gawking at everything and everyone and standing on the sidewalk in groups blocking everyone else from getting anywhere.

Let me guess:

People don't want to come to USA due to Trump
Too expensive (hotel/airfare/eating out)
More economical and similar places to visit in the USA
Exotic vacation over visiting NYC
The quality in Coke has gone down.

Even if tourism was down by a large percentage, it wouldn't be enough to make a quality-of-life difference for the average New Yorker even if the main part of your commute is a walk down 5th avenue or something.

75% of a horde is still a horde.
