Yeah I went in there yesterday. Looks like they're trying to compete with WF, with the food counters and tables. Except at a glance it doesnt look like there is actually much to get at the food counters besides cupcakes and regular deli stuff.

Also, I didn't see any beer...

The other one on 3rd and 120th street is a dump. They need to close that one and re-do the floors. I've been in there a few times picking up items for friends and almost felt like I was going to fall through the floor. That's not an exaggeration either. They had some spots covered with floor mats, but clearly the floor beneath them is either weak and rotting or both, and someone will fall in sooner or later. Just imagine, you're walking down an aisle and you go to step and fall through the floor. It's like something out of a cartoon.

I know one thing... They definitely don't compete with WF when it comes to organic milk. A half-gallon of Stonyfield or Organic Valley is over $6.00.

That's a pretty severe exaggeration, I'm in the 120th st one all the time and it's not too bad. Not too good, but not too bad... definitely better than the 116th st location was when it was open like 2 years ago.

Walk by the freezer areas. Unless they've fixed the floors over there, walk by the areas with the floor mats... Assuming you don't fall through the floor of course.

It’s always packed at the one on 3rd. I miss Pathmark. Not the cashiers

it's ugly, but it's not so bad. Its rapidly gentrifying too, I see a lot more yuppie looking people than I used to. But the area is starved for non-****ty grocery stores, because most of the ones there now are pretty basic.

I was returning from the Bronx yesterday and on my way past 116th street, I passed by the new market. Boy it looks much better. Nice and bright. No idea what it's like in terms of quality, but I think it's great that East Harlem has something like that. Hopefully it stays nice.
