I was referring to neighborhoods rather than schools, but Baldwin High school is only 20% white and dropping every year.

The basketball courts in both Highland Park and nearby Forest Park would be mostly used by Black kids even though the neighborhoods were mostly Hispanic or White. The Puerto Ricans and Dominicans mostly stuck to the baseball fields.
Do Dominicans and Haitians look different? They’re on the same island but apparently there’s a lot of animosity between them, particularly from DR to Haiti. Is it purely cultural or are there significant appearance differences between the two groups?

That's why it annoys me when some activist types insist that Dominicans and Haitians are exactly the same. Don't get me wrong, I think they should get along, but they clearly have differences in physical appearance and culture.

For people that inhabited the same island, it always amazed me how both physically and culturally different they are in NYC.
