When you do business within the ghetto community you need to have video of everything to support or diffuse any situation that people can use against you unless you have your side of the story on video. The media has always been unfair to small businesses regarding who the race is.
During the great LA riot in the 90s where blacks were looting Korean businesses. No media reported on it and the stories of how Korean businesses fought off Black gangs in gun battles just been released recently. LA police didn't care about any small businesses and left the Korean business owners creating their on own armed defense force to protect their assets.
Liberal media did not cover it because they didn't want to upset blacks that were constantly rioting and looting parts of downtown LA.
I learned about the LA riots a long time ago so I doubt what you're saying is true
It serve as a piece of history for the police to study how to handle these riots and many police force around the country still have not been equipped to handle.
The media nor LA police came to help these Korean businesses.

I knew about the Koreans fighting back with guns at least 5 years ago, and I'm pretty sure the information was available before that. There's a pretty famous picture of the Korean guys with guns on the roof of one of their stores.

We're still waiting for you to tell us what vision33r said that you thought wasn't true.
Even more troubling it appears the NYPD and the city have yet to address or even study the problem. They need to find out what's going on and stop it.
I also think more Asians need to go into public positions like politics or the media and the law. It's going to take a lot of work to fix this, as quite clearly the city government doesn't seem to want to address this issue. they will need to be a lot of pressure. At least activists have been bringing the attention to elected officials, so it will take more work to force their hand.

I think they were afraid the riots would spread to other cities. Around that time there were small riots in other poor neighborhoods, and the media didn't want to take the blame for having cities around the nation literally burn down to the ground.
When the schools chancellor is racist about asians and the mayor condones that by staying silent, the environment created supports further racism against Asians. That's an NYC-specific thing on top of Trump's comments effectively legitimizing in many minds racist behaviors as acceptable.
