A former MTA exec was busted Thursday for stealing $60,000 in iPhones from the agency. Prosecutors said Angel Barbosa, who held his job as chief procurement officer from 2013 to 2017, ordered 63 phones through the MTA that he allegedly resold. Many of the phones were later traced to other countries including Russia, Saudi Arabia and Argentina.

It is likely this isn't his only crime. He could've had inside help or accomplices. They probably got caught and in a plea deal ratted on him.

Totally open NYS AG seat that if he ran would win easily. But does he run? Noooo, Preet is "above politics". Meaning he will only take appointments by presidents or governors who come willing to kiss his behind, and beg him to take the job.

So it looks like we'll get yet another egit/product of political machine in November.

Guy's got some pair on him:

"The ex-transit bigwig was also accused of forging pay stubs to convince the agency he earned more than he did at his previous employer, New York University, which inflated his starting salary at the MTA."

"Barbosa pulled a similar stunt for a female friend who was hired in the procurement office where he was in charge of dealing with vendors for the state-run authority."

But hey, cut the brotha some slack; once he was made aware of charges he did the right thing. *LOL*

"“Upon learning of the allegations, Mr. Barbosa voluntarily arranged to appear and face the accusations. A valued employee of the MTA during his tenure, my client looks forward to reviewing the evidence and moving the case forward,” his attorney Jeremy Saland said."

This ain't no average hood rat we're dealing with here; brotha posted 40k bond and got himself a slick private attorney.

Like Silvo from the Sopranos says "Last year I made bail so fast my soup was still warm when I got home.”

This is nothing new, it happens all the time. The company where I work have allot of "test" devices that are uncounted for.

Every time a new piece of technology comes out some big person up the chain wants one to show off to his friends from the other company. So the head of Procurement orders one for the requestor, a few for IT "to test to provide support incase something happens". They also order a spare "incase the requestors one breaks". But when something happens to the requesters device no one can find their device to assist or replace it so another one has to be ordered.

This happened with iPhones, iPads, apple watches, gear watches, VR headsets, MacBook's, surface books, etc
