Not the same vibe though. Growing up as a teenager, would go there for heavy metal CDs and t-shirts. During those times, you were either into metal, or gay or some other outsider. When families started moving in with money, that's when the place became sterile. Coney Island High was torn down and condos were put in its place. My first heavy metal show there to see Morbid Angel.

There was Sounds, and several other great CD stores, not to mention the great bars up and down 8th Street, West 4th and so on. You can however still score some weed in the park though (as far as I know). Washington Square Park remains as seedy as ever.

If you can afford $860 per night you're not a hipster...

This is nothing new at all. I moved to Williamsburg from the East Village in 1990. One of the many reasons I then left Williamsburg (in 2008) was because the streets had become a puke fest. That was 10 years ago, before most of the people complaining now had even "discovered" the neighborhood.

You know many hipsters actually have money they just dress like their homeless. They spend more on one pair of ripped jeans that look old and distressed then I have on all my jeans I own.

I'd like to see photos of what the party looks like and want types of people show up.

Anybody want to go to the venue and report back to us? Says it is like $50 on weekdays.

Those are not hipsters in my book. If it was hipsters it would look more wild and fun and off the hook.

One suggestion, build taller plexiglass walls around the rooftop, for safety but also to mitigate some noise.

It's a tough call because I remember being young. They have a fun spot that attracts lots of people and the building management is raking in lots of additional income from using this rooftop. Kudos for that.

There is probably more management can do to ease the noise levels while still letting the kids have fun.

The hood is still LIT can’t wait till crowns Heights, Flatbush, East Flatbush and Brownsville are loud as hell on Labor Day. The city should give a ticket to whoever tries to complain.

I don't know Miami well, but Vegas I do. The main party scene is on the Strip. While there are some condos on the strip, and some (not so great) apartments nearby, the scene on the Strip is largely segregated from the residential areas. The two don't interact. Even the locals joints are in locals casinos, sitting in the middle of huge parking lots, not bothering the people who want to sleep.

The problem with NYC, is that the clubs are cheek by jowl with apartments. Either developers have built apartment's in the formerly industrial areas that have big clubs, or bar owners put clusters noisy bars in the ground floor storefronts of residential neighborhoods. The city needs some areas thar stay zoned to not allow residential development where nightlife district's can be built
